Shiraz fire fighting organization was established actually as a fire-fighting unit in the body of Shiraz municipality. That trend continued until the equipment of Iranian fire fighting organizations in modern form was being discussed. Shiraz Municipality, too, following that policy, established its station # 1 about the Horr Square in 1972. By virtue of increasing urbanization and establishment of assembly industries during the next several years, the second station was established at the (present) Khold-e-Barin Park in 1977. At the same time, establishment of the station #3 was began at Khatoon Square, which was operated in 1979. In 1992, the construction and equipment of two stations at Farhang Shahr (Sajjadieh lane) (station # 4) and Amir Kabir Blvd (station #5) was carried out. The year 1999 was a good year for the organization. In that year, the construction and equipment operations of 4 stations commenced and ended up. They were: Station #6 at Edalat Blvd, station #7 at Sardkhaneh St., station #8 at Golestan town, and station #10 at Bridgestone St. Construction and equipment of stations was continued by establishment of the station #9 at Haft – Tanan Blvd. and Shahid Dastgheib operational station in 2002. In the same year, the green grocery square’s specific station started operation. In 2002 and 2003, which is termed the year for providing service to the people, special attention has been made for planning. Toward that end, the organization has defined 27 study projects, four of which have been completed, two are in the process and the remainders are waiting for being carried out. Shiraz fire fighting organization presently has 44 light – duty and heavy – duty apparatus, equipped with wireless communication systems. However, by virtue of fire fighting problems in the old urban structure, urban traffic, and for prevention from times being lost, it has started – up the motorcycle rescue unit, with 10 motorcycles, which have been much effective in reducing the responding time. The relevant personnel have passed special training with motorcycles. At the present, the organization has 360 experienced and trained personnel, who, in addition to their routine duties, have been grouped in specialized teams, as 1. The fire fighting team. 2. The rescue team. 3. The mountain rescue team. 4. The well rover rescue team. 5. The water diver rescue team. 6. The motorcycle-riding rescue team. Wishing help from Almighty God, in the difficult route we proceed. | | |
